Here's a lil wtf moment I had in a dungeon the other day…

I accidentally draw Hate from a side passage, by a patrol mob.
The tank is already full from his pull, so I hide around the corner; within the side passage.
Instantly, the BLM sleeps one (lowbie dungeon) and the WHM tries to heal me.
This method is quite unconventional, so I didn't know what was to transpire next…
I have myself dug so deep into the corner of this passage, the WHM is letting the tank die so she can get a heal off on me; she is so intent, she runs blindly into the passage to heal me, thus grabbing all the Hate (including my own. *sigh)
While the WHM is profusely getting their, for lack of better words, "colonic", they're screaming questions why I just had to pull more mobs into the fight.
Since we were in combat, and she was successful in saving me, I couldn't type much during this epic battle. So I said, "That was supposed to be a 1man wipe."
They all began to question wtf a 1-man wipe is. I'm sure many of you have already picked-up on this; however, I'll explain as I had to these experienced players.

1-Man Wipe -
A one man wipe, also known as 1mn wipe, 1m, or solo pull, is a technique used by a player in two circumstances. The initial is when they unintentionally pull a mob, or commonly a boss or rare (notorious monster), and they reset the said creatures by sacrificing themselves. The other is when the intentionally pull mobs in one direction, as a diversionary tactic, while the others run ahead and hide during the martyred reset of the mob. These tactics will be unsuccessful if anyone else, especially the healer, draws ANY hate from the creatures in question. Utility players like SMN or BRD may pull the same as a healer would.

So, the next time you accidently pull mobs, and the tank is already overloaded, think about this countermeasure. Your sacrifice may actually save the group from a possible wipe. That is, if you don't have a trigger-happy dps or treehugger-heals in the bunch.
